by Joliette induring a potluck for the hotel where i work, two housekeepers got into a fight because of some petty stuff thats been going on (so ready to quit but havent been job hunting like i should).
anywho, the head housekeepers starts bitching at the housekeeping supervisor and then bust out the other lead housekeeper, saying that she smells like a bag of onions!
i did not attend (i work third shift, and only attended event at work the first year that the hotel opened (2008).

by Terry inthe most disengenuous aspect of "official" pronouncements from the society can be identified.. it is in the positioning of the speaker/writer as a passive onlooker commenting on exterior happenings.. this bystander mode is clever by half.. why?
it spoon feeds information without taking any active personal responsibility.. sort of an "oh gee, wow--look at all this going on" stance, while taking a stand-offish tone, is printed in the official magazines and books approved for publication by the governing body as mouthpiece of jehovah.. think about that.
it is insidious incitement without responsibility.. the person (likely fred franz) who crafted these bulletins had gone through several previous incidents of failure and disappointment and was well aware of the effect of any speculations upon jehovah's witnesses in the past.. this makes what was printed all the more calculated and irresponsible in the extreme.. let us parse the language printed by the watchtower society with careful attention to what is said and left unsaid.. w68 8/15 p. 494 why are you looking forward to 1975?.

Why is sex suddenly pure and holy after you receive a marriage certificate?
by doubtful in...but gross and detestable any time before marriage.
if a witness couple who are engaged to one another, decide to express their love toward each other by engaging in sexual intercourse just weeks or even days before they're officially married, they are considered to be loathsome, unclean people.
the witness girl would be seen by others in the hall as a dirty little whore...and the guy would just be thought of as a horny young man who couldn't keep it in his pants.

by man in black induring the decades in which i was a jw, so many times i heard comments about how the wtbts is the only organization that god is directing here on earth today.
in fac there was a popular story in the late 70's about how the us army once came to a district assembly to observe, and learn how to better organize large groups of people.
( i remember the speaker commenting on how many attendee's thought the tribulation was starting because the army was there.

When did the WT say that homosexual extramarital affairs were not grounds for divorce?
by doubtful ini've heard it said that the watchtower printed an official stance on what qualifies as "adultery" at one point in the 1970s??
they said that a woman was not free to divorce her husband if her husband had sex with another man or with an animal, as such sexual relations did not constitute "becoming one flesh"... apparently vaginal intercourse is the only means of fusing two human bodies together.... what watchtower is such a doctrine found in?

The wt said in effect to forget about it let it ride ....I remember thinking at the time that the Elders should have been told to follow up all the wrongful disfellowshipings and try to redress this wrong But as we know now the WT never takes responsibility for its actions

I was content as a witness until I was DF for not forcing my daughter to have the child of her rapist. I continued to attend meetings for 8 months After one Elder counseled my 11 year old son on his talk He said to him. That he would help him with his talks now because he no longer had a father. That did not faze me I just told my son that the man was being ignorant
I kept thinking of the scripture about loving your enemies "Am I now the enemy" I asked myself If not why am I being treated so badly. Not one word of encouragement from the Elders during that 8 months I was treated like shit After the 8months they wanted to talk to me about reinstatement. I refused You have to be repentant. Right ! I was not They said I no longer had a relationship with God after I was DF. That was not true. I never believed he had abandoned me.
So I started attending church where I found love and acceptance not condemnation I always remember what one Church said when I told him that the witnesses think your all hypocrites . He said "come right in your welcome" and I thought "yes we are all sinners no one has made it. Didn't Jesus befriend sinners and condemn the self righteous" Anyway I made friends with Jan Groenveld subscribed to Randy's periodical and researched the basis of my faith in Jehovah's so called Organization. The evidence was overwhelming. I was a true believer Now that I knew it was a lie Not the truth I could not go back even though I realized what it could and did cost me ie: loss of friends family and marriage. I could not live a lie
